Class Info

The focus of this class is on the development of effective concepts derived from the client’s needs, and communicate effectively to its intended audience. Assignments will be carried out from initial concept to comprehensive layouts and presentations. Through a series of exercises and projects, the following areas will be rehearsed:

  • developing the ability to identify and define design problems
  • cultivating and exercising one’s creative process to conceptualize and research solutions
  • examining and applying the tools of design to carry out and enhance the desired visual
  • communication effectively
  • understanding the movements pertaining to the history of design and become familiar
  • with key persons who shaped its development
  • investigating and questioning the social and ethical responsibilities of the graphic
  • designer

The class follows a lecture/studio format including individual and group in-class exercises
and graphic design projects.
