Project Description

Targeted toward teens and young adults, this guide book was designed to be used as part of a financial literacy education program which took some of the fear and mystery out of financial planning. The guide book uses comic-book-style storytelling to follow the story of Sophia, a young woman who recently transitioned from foster care and is now facing the prospect of supporting herself for the first time. Throughout her story the guide book uses worksheets and exercises to help the reader relate her challenges and the advice she is given to their own lives.

For this project I adapted a written narrative into comic book form by creating rough storyboards. From these I collaborated with illustrator Rolo Ramis to create black & white line work. I then completed final color, layout, text and worksheets.
